BUSINESS AVIATION FEDERAL SUPPORT BACKLASH

CARES ACT 2020

Business and private aviation companies have seen a drastic reduction in flights since January of 2020.

Just last week, the government announced a federal support relief package for the aviation industry that included Business and Private Aviation. This package will help to stabablize profits with reduced demand and continue growth in the industry.

POLITICIANS AND MEDIA CLAIMS

Like many things in our society today, the package has received much backlash from politicians and the media.

Some believe, that relieving the private aviation industry only puts more money in rich people’s pockets, however, I am a small business owner in Private Aviation and this could not be further from the facts. 

BUSINESS AVIATION CONTRIBUTION

Business aviation contributes $150 billion annually to the U.S. economy and employs more than 1.2 million people in the U.S. including numerous small businesses like ValleyJet.

Flights made by business airplanes require support. Tens of thousands of pilots, maintenance technicians, schedulers, dispatchers, flight attendants, training professionals, airport employees, and other support personnel are employed in business aviation.

Since everything trickles down in a capitalistic economy, revenue made goes toward everything from grocery stores and farmers, to barbers that cut our hair. 

It’s our reality: Business Aviation assumes an essential role for citizens, organizations and communities across the United States and the world. Business Aviation is essential to the national economic interest, creating over a million jobs, giving a lifeline to areas with practically zero airline services, helping a large number of organizations of all sizes to be progressively productive and proficient, and providing emergency and humanitarian services to people in need.
